The challenge

A garden center offers its regular customers a storage service for plants so that they can survive the cold winter temperatures unscathed. For this purpose, an automated process is to determine the incoming orders, the preparation of quotations, the storage and retrieval dates as well as a forecast for capacity utilization.

Among other things, the following features should also be integrated:
  • Selection of different plant species
  • Remarks column (e.g. to document the condition of the plant)
  • Calculation of the required floor space and the total area
  • Recording the total delivery quantity per day
  • Offer or close delivery days according to order situation

The solution

Customers can log in to their account on the nurseries' homepage and order plant storage. The first possible collection and delivery date is then automatically calculated and the customer selects their preferred dates, which automatically generates an order summary. Customers receive both the order confirmation and the invoice in their registered e-mail accounts. Customers can also see their order history and the current order for an overview.

The nursery has its own area for managing orders. There you will find capacity utilization forecasts and a delivery schedule with all the relevant details. This simplifies planning and takes the pressure off employees.
